Naveen-Ul-Haq explained that he chose to retire from the 50-over format to extend his professional cricket career. He has been actively participating in franchise cricket leagues worldwide and is a key asset for Afghanistan’s bowling lineup alongside Rashid Khan.

As of now, Naveen-Ul-Haq has played seven matches in the 50-over format and has grabbed 14 wickets, with his best bowling figures being 4/42. His debut for Afghanistan in ODIs occurred against Bangladesh in Mirpur in 2016. His most recent appearance for the national team was against Ireland in Abu Dhabi in 2021.
