Saudi side launch huge bid for Napoli’s Victor Osimhen

Saudi Pro League side Al Hilal have made an offer worth €140m (£120.3m) to Napoli for forward Victor Osimhen.

Saudi sides continue to spend huge sums to attract overseas talent and Osimhen is the latest big name to receive a lucrative offer from the division.

Al Hilal – who saw Kylian Mbappe decline talks with the club last week after PSG accepted a world-record €300m (£259m) offer for the Frenchman – have now turned their attention to Osimhen.

Sky Sports are reporting that the Saudi club have made a proposal of £120.3m for the Nigeria international, who was the leading scorer in Serie A last season as Napoli were crowned champions for the first time since 1990.

Napoli value Osimhen, who has also attracted interest from Chelsea, Manchester United and PSG this summer, in excess of €150m (£128.8m).

The offer is understood to include wages in the region of £1m per week for the 24-year-old, whose contract at Napoli expires in 2025. The Italian champions had been keen to extend Osimhen’s deal but talks have so far failed to find a breakthrough.

Al Hilal have already secured a major signing from Serie A this season in former Lazio midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, alongside the additions of Ruben Neves from Wolves and Kalidou Koulibaly from Chelsea. The latter was a former team-mate of Osimhen at Napoli.
