10 Premier League records Harry Kane already holds

Harry Kane could be set to leave the Premier League this summer with serious interest in the Tottenham forward from Bayern Munich.

Kane has been one of the Premier League’s standout stars since emerging from the academy system in north London, breaking a whole host of records to cement his place as one of the division’s greatest goalscorers.

Should Kane depart in search of a new challenge, he will do so as the second-highest goalscorer in the league’s history and in possession of a number of Premier League landmarks.

Here are 10 Premier League records Harry Kane holds.

Most goals for a single club (213)

Kane is placed second on the list of all-time Premier League goalscorers having scored 213 times in the division for Tottenham. Only Alan Shearer (260) has scored more goals in the Premier League than Kane, but no player has scored more for a single club.

Each of Kane’s top-flight goals have come in the colours of Spurs, with the 29-year-old having passed Jimmy Greaves’ club-record to become the north London side’s leading scorer in all competitions last season.

Most away goals (112)

Kane has scored the majority of his Premier League goals away from home and is the competition’s leading scorer on the road. The forward brought up a century of away goals with a penalty against Arsenal in October 2022 and has now scored 112 goals in away fixtures.

He is the only player in Premier League history to reach 100+ away goals, with Wayne Rooney (94) and Alan Shearer (87) trailing behind.

Most goals in a calendar year (39)

2017 proved to be a prolific calendar year for Kane, who broke Alan Shearer’s 22-year Premier League goalscoring record after netting 39 goals in the top-flight.

Kane passed Shearer’s calendar year record with a hat-trick against Southampton, a treble which also made him the leading scorer in Europe for club and country – surpassing Lionel Messi – with 56 goals in all competitions.

He achieved his goalscoring record in six fewer games than Shearer’s 36-goal haul from 1995 and ended the year with more league goals scored than SIX Premier League clubs – Bournemouth, West Brom, Swansea, Crystal Palace, Brighton and Huddersfield

His hat-trick against the Saints was also his sixth in the Premier League in 2017, having also netted trebles in fixtures with West Brom, Stoke, Hull, Leicester and Burnley.

Most consecutive seasons to score at least 15 goals (9)

Kane has been a consistent goalscoring presence since breaking into the Tottenham team on a regular basis during the 2014/15 season, a campaign which saw the forward score 21 league goals to win the PFA Young Player of the Year award.

Kane has scored 15+ goals in nine consecutive campaigns since, a Premier League record. His lowest return was 17 goals scored in 2018/19 and 2021/22, while his highest is 30 goals achieved in both 2017/18 and 2022/23.

He is the only player in Premier League history to score 30+ goals in multiple 38-game seasons. Remarkably, he failed to win the Golden Boot in either campaign.

Most headed goals in a season (10)

Goalscoring greats are capable of scoring all manner of goals and Kane headed himself to a new record during the 2022/23 campaign.

His ten headed goals are a record in a single season, moving him past Duncan Ferguson’s record of nine headed goals scored for Everton in 1997/98.

Most matches scored in during a 38-game season (26)

Kane achieved another record last season after scoring in 26 different fixtures. No player has ever netted in more games during a 38-game Premier League season, with Andy Cole having achieved the feat when the division was a 22-team competition.

Most goal combinations (47 – with Son Heung-min)

No partnership in Premier League history has ever been as prolific as the one between Harry Kane and Son Heung-min, with the duo having dovetailed to devastating effect in north London.

Kane and Son have combined directly for 47 goals in the Premier League, having moved past the previous record of 36 held by Chelsea’s Frank Lampard and Didier Drogba.

Most goal combinations in a single season (14 – with Son Heung-min)

Kane and Son also hold the record for most goal combinations in a single season after combining 14 times during the 2020/21 campaign.

The previous record was 13 goal combinations set by Blackburn’s ‘SAS’ partnership of Alan Shearer and Chris Sutton during the club’s title-winning campaign in 1994/95.

Most assists in a Premier League match (4 – vs Southampton)

Kane is one of just six players to have provided FOUR assists in a single Premier League fixture, having created four goals during Tottenham’s 5-2 win at Southampton in September 2020.

He was the first English player to achieve the feat and the first to assist each goal to the same player, as Son Heung-min scored four goals at St Mary’s.

Only player to score consecutive hat-tricks more than once

Six players – Les Ferdinand, Ian Wright, Didier Drogba, Wayne Rooney, Erling Haaland and Kane – have scored hat-tricks in two consecutive league games, but only the Tottenham forward has done so twice.

Kane first achieved the feat during an incredible end to the 2016/17 campaign, as the forward scored seven goals in wins over Leicester and Hull City in the final two fixtures to overhaul Everton’s Romelu Lukaku and win the Premier League’s Golden Boot.

His second back-to-back trebles came later that year, as Kane scored a hat-trick in an away win at Burnley, before claiming another match ball in the following game with another hat-trick in a 5–2 home win against Southampton.
