Since Triple H took over for Vince McMahon as the artistic leader of WWE in July 2022, fans have been treated to a number of comebacks. Before the RAW show on August 14, many fans think Lita might be on TV for the first time in four months.
The 48-year-old worked with Becky Lynch and Trish Stratus to beat Bayley, Dakota Kai, and IYO SKY at WrestleMania 39 in April. After striking her fellow Hall of Famer backstage a week later, Stratus went bad.
WWE put up a video on YouTube about the planned match between Lynch and Stratus before RAW on Monday in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. Several fans said in the comments that they think Lita will get involved.
One fan even thought that Stratus might leave for good if she lost to Lynch in Canada, where she lives.
On Monday, the WWE Universe didn’t seem to agree on whether Lynch or Stratus should win. Fans also said that the match should have happened at last week’s SummerSlam instead of RAW because it was a bigger deal.
The only other time Lynch and Stratus faced off against each other in a match was at Night of Champions in May. After getting help from Zoey Stark, the second group won.
On the July 31 episode of RAW, the two women were supposed to meet each other. But Lynch was attacked by Stark, so the match was over in just five seconds.
Why Becky Lynch didn’t wrestle Trish Stratus at WWE SummerSlam
WWE Chief Content Officer Triple H said after SummerSlam that he could only book a certain number of matches for the show. So, he wanted Becky Lynch’s match against Trish Stratus to be the main event on RAW.
Lynch joked on social media that she was “making lemonade out of all the lemons I’ve been given” after the SummerSlam loss. At the SummerSlam news conference, Triple H said that superstars sometimes have to “take the lemons and make lemonade” when things don’t go their way.
Lynch drank lemonade while Shayna Baszler beat Zoey Stark on the August 7 episode of RAW. She also spit out the drink, just like Triple H did when he made his famous entrance into the ring.
