SummerSlam Showdown: Jaw-Dropping Heel or Face Turns Set to Rock WWE!

SummerSlam 2023 has all the makings of a WWE event that will be remembered for a long time. The match card looks exciting from beginning to end. Nothing is out of place, and nothing should steal the show from anything else.

But even the best cards are only good when special things happen along with the action in the ring. Last year’s pay-per-view was the first time Damage CTRL was shown, and Brock Lesnar used a tractor to flip a wrestling ring.

What will 2023 be like? What moments from this show will be impossible to forget?

Could Bianca Belair become more bold to get her title back or at least get back at Charlotte Flair? Will The Usos Turn against each other in front of WWE fans?

If Finn Bálor can’t take the World Heavyweight Championship from Seth Rollins, will The Judgment Day turn against each other? Could LA Knight finally listen to what his fans want to make him successful in the long run?

Saturday at Ford Field in Detroit, WWE has a chance to do something big that will change the roster for months to come.

These are the heel and Face turns that are most likely to happen at SummerSlam 2023.

Finn Bálor 1 OUT OF 5

The Judgment Day are almost on top of the WWE, but that doesn’t mean that they are perfectly in line. Finn Bálor and Damian Priest still have different ideas about where the group is going.

The Irishman is getting more and more angry at Seth Rollins, which makes him even more jealous of his stablemates. He might break if he loses to The Visionary at SummerSlam.

WWE has hinted that both Bálor and Priest could turn face, but it seems like Bálor will be left behind by The Judgment Day while Priest will soon turn his Money in the Bank briefcase into gold and won’t need the Irishman anymore.

This could happen on Saturday, when The Prince’s loss to the world heavyweight king could leave Rollins open to an easy cash-out.

Priest, Rhea Ripley, and Dominik Mysterio work well together, even without Bálor. This is especially true when they have gold in their hands.

The seeds have been set, but WWE has teased these moments before without making them happen.

Jimmy Uso is a heel.
2 OF 5

Even though a move isn’t always a good idea, WWE still thinks about it.

The Bloodline story has come to a reasonable end because The Usos went against Roman Reigns and chose to go their own way. No matter what, the brothers should back each other up in a fight against The Tribal Chief.

But it would be very WWE for Jimmy Uso to turn on Jey Uso, setting up a fight between the twins after SummerSlam.

Jimmy vs. Jey could be a great matchup at the right time, but this step is too forced right now. Bloodline has shown how important it is to be patient.

It could be the right time soon, but hopefully not on Saturday.

Giovanni Vinci is his name.
3 OF 5

Raw could be taken over by Imperium, but only if everyone in the group is ready to work together. Gunther has recently asked if Giovanni Vinci is good enough to stay in the stable.

The Ring General has also asked Ludwig Kaiser questions, but on Monday’s Raw, the German answered with a memorable win over Matt Riddle.

Vinci hasn’t been able to win much lately, and it wouldn’t be the first time he got left behind while Imperium did well. When his stablemates moved to SmackDown in April 2022, he was left in NXT.

If it’s going to happen, SummerSlam could be the best time for Gunther to turn on the Italian. This could give Vinci a chance to talk about his NXT act and show off his own style.

Imperium, on the other hand, will keep growing no matter what. If Vinci changed his face, Ilja Dragunov might be able to take his place in the group.

Bianca Belair’s heel: 4 OF 5

All the signs point to Bianca Belair turning bad during or after her WWE Women’s Championship match at SummerSlam, especially at Charlotte Flair’s cost.

If Iyo Sky doesn’t cash in, Asuka will still be the champion after the Triple Threat match, but Belair and Flair need to fight to get back into the spotlight. The story is there, especially when The EST of WWE fails to win back her title.

This wouldn’t be the first time Flair turned bad during a Triple Threat title match at SummerSlam. Hopefully, it works out as well for Belair as it did for Becky Lynch in 2018.

Belair is likely to stay a heel longer than The Man, and a long fight with The Queen will give her a chance to show more of who she is after a long year as champion when she was a face.

Los Angeles Knight
5 OF 5

Fans may already know who LA Knight is, but he still plays the bad guy. On Friday’s SmackDown, he will face Sheamus. After that, he will take part in the SummerSlam Battle Royal.

All of this is a strong stage for making the biggest change needed to become a top star in WWE. The Megastar is just too famous not to push on Saturday night.

Knight would quickly and clearly turn face if he showed respect to his opponents or started a fight with a hated heel like Austin Theory or even Roman Reigns.

The time is right for the big story, and it’s up to WWE to tell it. If it doesn’t happen soon, fans may turn against any fan favorite The Megastar faces to make him change.
