Joe Rogan opens up about his unique relationship with Dana White: The man behind the UFC magic

For many casual fans, a UFC pay-per-view event would not be the same without Rogan’s commentary. Although he does not need to commentate to earn a living, he continues to do so out of passion for the promotion and the sport.

Fans may not realize, however, that he also owes a great deal to UFC president Dana White.

The nature of Joe Rogan’s current UFC contract reflects his insistence that he wouldn’t want to work under anyone else’s direction.

Former UFC welterweight champion Matt Serra spoke to Joe Rogan about Dana White’s work ethic on episode 142 of The Joe Rogan Experience.

Below is the full episode, starting at 18:35 minutes with the segment about Dana White:

White’s exact words were as follows:

He’s like an animal, he’s always doing stuff. He’s always involved, he’s always negotiating, he’s always fighting, he just… he loves this stuff. I have a contract that says that if he ever leaves, I will leave, too. “I don’t want to do it for anyone else.”

With neither Rogan nor White absent from the UFC, most fans would not recognize the promotion.

Rogan still appears at blockbuster PPV events even though he works fewer dates than he used to.

Elon Musk’s close ties to Joe Rogan

Joe Rogan has expressed admiration for more successful businessmen than Dana White.

Since Musk’s appearance on Rogan’s podcast, the UFC commentator has grown reasonably close to Musk.

Rogan even texted Musk to express his support for his then-plan to purchase Twitter, which Musk has since accomplished.

While the UFC commentator is an experienced martial artist, he has yet to offer Musk his services as a trainer for an MMA bout with Zuckerberg.
