AEW Dynamite Results: Chris Jericho and Roderick Strong Go Head-to-Head in Explosive Matchup

As Adam Cole and the rest of the Jericho Appreciation Society are banned from the building, Chris Jericho will compete against Roderick Strong in a falls count anywhere match tonight. In addition to dealing with his friend’s major rival, Strong is trying to establish himself within AEW.

On the show, Outcasts members Ruby Soho and Toni Storm will face Britt Baker and Hikaru Shida in tag team action, which was changed at the last minute when Jamie Hayter wasn’t medically cleared to compete. As Ricky Starks and Jay White finally compete in singles action after White has been attacking “Absolute,” their issues will also reach boiling point tonight.

As well as Don Callis tonight, fans can expect to hear about his shocking actions last week where he betrayed Kenny Omega with a screwdriver, allowing Jon Moxley to defeat him.

Jack Perry will face Rush in singles action, and Sammy Guevara will face an unknown opponent. Darby Allin will also compete against Lee Moriarty and Big Bill along with Orange Cassidy.

Last but not least, Tony Khan promised a major announcement last week, which is likely to be related to “AEW Collision.”

Christian Cage is called out by Wardlow

Warldow spits in Christian’s face after he calls him to the Ring last week to ask him to keep his word. After making his way down with Luchasaurus, Wardlow attacks him first before Luchasaurus spits on him. He then tries to stop him, and while the TNT Champion takes control initially, he is dropped after a low blow from Cage. Luchasaurus then intervenes and tries to stop him.

As Luchasaurus hands Wardlow a ladder, Cage attacks him head-first. Cage then props up the ladder and Luchasaurus chopslams him through it, snapping the ladder in half. As the broken ladder is brought to the middle of the ring, Cage hits the Killswitch, causing Wardlow to fall face-first onto the ladder while posing with the TNT title.

A fight between Orange Cassidy & Darby Allin and Big Bill & Lee Moriarty

Allin is thrown around the ring as Big Bill just throws him around. Moriarty starts off aggressively attacking Cassidy before exchanging pinfall attempts with both men. After sending both of his opponents out of the ring, he and Cassidy dive outside the ring to attack them again. However, as they return to the ring, Bill is the one to win with a big boot to Cassidy’s face.

As he stands on the champion’s injured back, he throws him into the turnbuckles, focusing on it. Allin tags in, throwing himself at both of his opponents as Cassidy avoids Bill in the corner, but Moriarty blocks him as well as Cassidy reverses him. Bill nails a sidewalk slam on Allin in mid-air, but Allin kicks out.

Moriarty and Cassidy return to action, but Cassidy takes him to the top turnbuckle, where he and Allin work together to hit a double superplex, but Big Bill runs them both down with a double clothesline. While Cassidy hits Big Bill with the Orange Punch to stop interference, Allin nails a Coffin Drop and sets up Moriarty in the drop zone, but Allin wins the headlock pinfall to send a message to the champion.

Orange Cassidy & Darby Allin are the winners

In Action: Sammy Guevara

As the Blackpool Combat Club launches the tag team around the parking lot, the Young Bucks are asked backstage about Kenny Omega.

Arn Anderson tells Wardlow that he should’ve been out there, but the champion admits that’s why he wasn’t. Wardlow tells Christian they can play with ladders and suggests a ladder match for the TNT title against Cage at Double Or Nothing. Anderson asks what he is prepared to do.

Then Orange Cassidy is shown backstage saying that many people want to fight for his title, and he tells them to tell Tony Khan so he can fight them all.

Sammy Guevara vs. Exodus Prime

After Exodus Prime misses with a punch, he is immediately hit with a knee strike, followed by the GTH, and the fight is over.

Sammy Guevara won

In his speech, Guevara says he remembers both the good and the bad from his childhood, but he has made mistakes that people have witnessed firsthand. At Double Or Nothing, he says he will be the new AEW World Champion.

Jeff Jarrett and his crew then come out before FTR arrive and start a confrontation with Satnam Singh. The rivals clash, yet FTR get the upper hand. But before they can celebrate, Karen Jarrett stops them by delivering Cash Wheeler a low blow, which signals for Jarrett to execute The Stroke on Dax Harwood. Finally, Singh returns to the ring to overwhelm FTR with double Chokeslams followed by a double guitar shot to their heads.

As Allin and Guevara are shown backstage, Allin says it’s no secret how important the title match is.

Hikaru Shida and Britt Baker vs. Toni Storm and Ruby Soho

A few shots from Hikaru Shida to Ruby Soho are followed by a missile dropkick as the Outcasts gain control early on. Toni Storm tags in after Soho steps on Shida’s foot and hits a knee strike, which allows her to stomp away on her opponent and tag in. While Britt Baker tags in, Saraya pulls Baker’s legs, setting up Storm’s hip attack.

Baker finds themselves on the floor as Saraya strikes with a barrage of knee strikes. Storm then chucks them into the barricade. Soho nearly gets rolled up, but swiftly readjusts and reduces the speed of the match. Unfortunately for Storm, they receive a huge boot and neckbreaker which leads to Shida hopping in and exchanging fists with Soho, who prevails in the skirmish. Storm is then hit with a forearm by their opponent, followed by Saraya doing the same before Shida jumps off with a crossbody to take out all three competitors on the outside.

Baker hits a neckbreaker on Storm, leading to the DDT on Soho at the exact same time. She tries to follow it up with the Lockjaw but Soho reverses and hits the No Future. Shida is attacked by Storm, but she is then dropped by an air raid crash and the Stomp. In spite of this, Saraya distracts the official, allowing Storm to spray Baker in the face and hit Storm Zero.

Toni Storm & Ruby Soho are the winners

After Renee Paquette’s show with Orange Cassidy, she claims 20 people spoke to Tony Khan about facing him for the International Championship, and he suggested the blackjack battle royal at Double Or Nothing.

He announces a number of dates for “AEW Collision,” and he will reveal where the premiere episode will be next week.

Roderick Strong vs. Chris Jericho (Falls Count Anywhere)

When Roderick Strong enters the ring, he nails several knee strikes, followed by several running elbows while Jericho can’t get his jacket on. After lifting Jericho to the mat, Strong drops him onto the ring apron and delivers another big chop as he then plants him face-first. After firing a few stiff shots of his own, Jericho then throws a water bottle at him, ending the fight.

Jericho then looks for the Walls Of Jericho and locks it in, but he is able to get hold of the ropes and pull them out. After sending Strong into the crowd, Jericho and Strong begin brawling up the stairs. Jericho throws a garbage can at Strong, but Strong throws Jericho onto the railings. As Strong drops Jericho onto the counter, they continue brawling at the top of the concourse.

The two then move the fight to the stairs, where Jericho smashes a running forearm, yet Strong kicks out. In retaliation, Strong launches some plastic cutlery at Jericho before covering his face with Mr. Softy. The brawl continues outside the stadium, where Adam Cole makes a surprise appearance and sends Jericho into a mud puddle. He then barrages Jericho with punches before landing the ‘Boom’. Strong quickly follows suit with a jumping knee, enabling him to take home the victory.

Roderick Strong won

Rush vs. Jungle Boy Jack Perry

Jack Perry kicks Rush’s hand away and sends him outside the ring before repeatedly throwing him into the barricade at ringside. While Jose distracts the official outside the ring, Rush uses a chair to bust Perry wide open. Rush then delivers a series of headbutts in the corner as Perry refuses to surrender.

Despite Perry’s efforts, Rush just absorbs a clothesline and then continues his attack with another headbutt. With a dropkick, Perry finally drops Rush to the ground after delivering a series of chops. They then go chop for chop on the top turnbuckle until Perry connects with a hurricanrana off the ropes.

However, Jose grabs the boot which stops Perry’s momentum, but Perry still catches Rush and catches him into the Snare Trap, but Rush reaches the ropes as a result. As the two go back and forth on the ring apron, Rush throws Perry to the floor. As Rush attacks violently in the corner, the official pulls him away, resulting in Rush pushing the official. However, while they argue Perry gets the roll-up.

Jack Perry was the winner

Following the match, Rush and Prestone Vance jump Perry until Darby Allin hits the ring, but he is also beaten. It is only Sammy Guevara who evens things out and the two pillars take care of the heels.

MJF storms off as Renee Paquette’s microphone is slammed out of her hand by MJF.

Backstage, Toni Storm complains about Jamie Hayter not showing up. Hayter will put the title on the line at Double Or Nothing if she still has any guts left.

Ricky Starks vs. Jay White

Early on, Jay White and Ricky Starks get into a brawl with “Absolute” winning. The Bullet Club Gold star, however, drives White into the ring post as he follows him outside the ring, only to have Starks respond by sending him into the barricade. Getting back into the ring, White hangs Starks on the top rope and follows it up with a chop, but Starks instantly counters with a back body drop.

White drives Starks into the ring apron and follows up with a dragon screw inside the ring. After firing a forearm shot, followed by a chop, he then fires up and delivers one of his own as well as a couple of stomps and a big clothesline to Starks, but the pin doesn’t work. After bouncing off the top rope, Starks hits a DDT, but the combination does not work.

In the blink of an eye, White reverses things with a DDT of his own, hangs Starks on the top rope, and then performs an Urinagi on Starks, but Starks kicks out. When Starks begins to hammer several elbow strikes, White dumps him over the top rope to end the abuse. When they get back into the ring, Starks connects with a swinging neck breaker, then hits the Chance, but White kicks him out.

While reversing the Blade Runner, Starks nearly catches White with a roll-up, but he manages to land a Spear! White then rakes the eyes of Starks, which leads to Juice Robinson aiming to hit him with a chair, but Starks takes it off him and attacks him with it. However, he then uses the weapon on White as well, resulting in a DQ.

Jay White is the winner (via disqualification)

With security all up the ramp, Don Callis makes his way into the ring. Despite the fact that everyone wants to hear him explain why he did what he did, he says he will talk about what Kenny Omega did to him, as he is the only victim in this. It was because of him that he won the World Title on his first night here, and Omega would not exist without him.

Omega emerges as a result, and he starts dropping security members, but Blackpool Combat Clib appears and outnumbers him. Moxley says the war is already over and this is his last warning because he is the elite. Young Bucks appear with a variety of weapons, and Adam Page returns! The Elite stand tall as the Young Bucks run down the ramp and fight with the BCC, sending them up the ramp.
