I get it. Many of you don’t have time to play tennis and do the gym, but do you at least have 9 minutes?
I devised a 9-minute tennis-specific workout that players of all levels and ages can incorporate into their practice routine.
Do each of the following four moves for 30 seconds each to complete 1 set. And do 12 sets for the entire workout.
- Sprint forward, hustle back
- Crossover to the forehand, sidestep back
- Cross over to the backhand, sidestep back
- Sprint to the net for right and left volleys
It only takes 9 MINUTES, and you don’t need a gym membership or any equipment – just your racquet. And an added bonus is that it also enhances footwork!
Coaches, encourage your clients to get in shape for tennis rather than playing tennis to get in shape! Players, the same goes for you! Do this every time you have practice, and if you don’t practice, do this a few days a week in your backyard (just pretend you’re on the court!)
Remember – you don’t have to be a pro to train like a pro!
