Vincent Kompany has been surprisingly linked with Bayern Munich following Burnley’s relegation to the Championship. The 38-year-old led Burnley to the Championship title in his first year but couldn’t save them from relegation on their return to the Premier League.

Transfer insider Fabrizio Romano reports that several clubs are considering the Manchester City legend as a managerial candidate, including Bayern Munich. The Bavarians have discussed Kompany internally as a possible successor to Thomas Tuchel. This could see the Belgian tactician jump from Championship football to the Champions League next season. Brighton is also interested in Kompany as they search for Roberto De Zerbi’s replacement.

Bayern, however, has struggled to find a new manager, facing rejections from top targets such as Xabi Alonso, Unai Emery, Ralf Rangnick, Julian Nagelsmann, and Roger Schmidt. De Zerbi has also been linked but is reportedly not keen on moving to the Allianz Arena, preferring to take a break before his next role.
