Reportedly, Jurgen Klopp, the manager of Liverpool, has deployed scouts to observe Victor Osimhen as they consider a potential transfer. Osimhen, the Nigerian footballer who plays for Napoli, has previously been associated with Arsenal and Chelsea in the Premier League.

Recently, he was on international duty in Portugal, participating in friendly matches against Saudi Arabia and Mozambique. Although he started the first game in the Algarve, he was subsequently rested due to a muscle issue.

It’s worth noting that Osimhen did not find the net in the draw against Saudi Arabia. He has faced some challenges at Napoli since his exceptional performance, scoring 26 league goals last season, which led them to win Serie A.

This situation could potentially increase Liverpool’s chances of securing his signature.

According to The Sun, Jurgen Klopp dispatched a member of his scouting team to watch the 24-year-old player in action, despite already being aware of his exceptional talent.

Osimhen has continued to add to his goal tally, with six goals in eight Serie A matches under the guidance of the new Napoli boss, Rudi Garcia, this season.

However, there seems to be some discord between Osimhen and the club, as reported. Despite the forward expressing his affection for the people and the city of Naples following a TikTok controversy, he and the club management are reportedly not in agreement.

Back in September, Osimhen removed all references to Napoli from his Instagram profile, while reports suggested he was contemplating legal action. This decision came after Osimhen was subjected to a viral trend on the club’s official TikTok, which mocked him for missing a penalty against Bologna.

The trend featured an edited high-pitched voice calling for a penalty, accompanied by the caption ‘gimme penalty, please,’ while displaying a clip of Osimhen’s appeal, concluding with his missed shot, which left fans bewildered and the striker frustrated.

Arsenal’s initial interest in Osimhen dates back to 2022 when a transfer fee of £70 million was mentioned, and his current contract extends until the summer of 2025.

Meanwhile, Chelsea, known for their substantial investments, has more recently been linked to Osimhen, with fans even urging Didier Drogba to play a role in recruiting the talented striker due to his expressed admiration for him.

Earlier this year, Manchester United also reportedly intensified their interest, with manager Erik ten Hag keeping a close watch on Osimhen’s performances.
