David Beckham orders £30K Tennis court demolition following Romeo’s sudden change of heart

David Beckham made the decision to transform his son Romeo’s £30,000 Tennis Court into a five-a-side football pitch.

Originally built in 2018, the state-of-the-art tennis court was a dream project for his son, who is now 21 years old. The idea for the tennis court came about when Romeo’s mother, Victoria, hoped that he would follow in the footsteps of tennis sensation Andy Murray.

During his tennis journey, Romeo had the privilege of training alongside renowned athletes such as Murray, Grigor Dimitrov, and Caroline Wozniacki, who held the world No. 2 ranking at the time.

In 2018, David Beckham revealed that his sons, Brooklyn, Romeo, and Cruz, had spent some time in Arsenal’s academy. However, they eventually chose different career paths, leaving David somewhat disheartened as he had hoped that one of his children would continue his sporting legacy.

His youngest child and only daughter, Harper, continued to show a strong interest in sports, upholding the Beckham family tradition.

David Beckham expressed his mixed feelings when he learned that Romeo had decided to step away from football. After being released from Arsenal’s academy in 2015, Romeo took a five-year break from the sport.

“The other day Romeo turned round to me and said he did not want to play football anymore,” the former Real Madrid star shared. “Part of me was devastated, but part of me was relieved, too. He has got other passions, and I like that.”

In 2020, Romeo made a return to football, leading to the transformation of the tennis court into a five-a-side pitch. He later joined Inter Miami and gained recognition from fans after scoring a free-kick for the second team against Orlando City.

Romeo Beckham began training with England’s Brentford B team in October 2022 and officially became part of the squad on a six-month loan in January 2023. Just four days after his arrival, he made his debut as a second-half substitute in a London Senior Cup match against Erith & Belvedere at Park View Road.

Romeo scored his first goal on February 14 in a Middlesex Senior Cup game against Wealdstone, securing a match-winning goal in the 93rd minute of a 3-2 victory. In May 2023, Romeo was part of the Brentford B squad that claimed victory in the 2022-23 Premier League Cup, even though he remained an unused substitute in the Cup final.

Throughout the 2022-23 season, he made 15 appearances for Brentford B. At the conclusion of his loan period, Romeo signed a one-year contract with Brentford B.

Romeo recently garnered media attention when his girlfriend, model Mia Regan, shared a photo of them cuddling in bed on social media. It was reported that they had briefly separated during the summer of 2022 after three years of dating but later reconciled.

Mia enjoys a strong and positive relationship with Victoria Beckham and has previously collaborated with Victoria’s eponymous clothing line. Victoria enthusiastically announced their joint project on her personal Instagram account, showing support for Mia and her son’s relationship.
