Speaking at the Festival dello Sport, as reported by Tutto Mercato, Ibrahimovic made a public appeal for understanding and assistance on behalf of his former colleague. He remarked, “I know little about this story, I had never noticed anything strange about him. But you shouldn’t judge before you don’t know everything,”

He added, “If he really is sick of gambling, you have to help him because it’s like a drug. I too have played at the casino because everyone does what he wants with his money. But you have to understand the situation.”

Tonali faces the looming threat of a potential worldwide suspension, which could range from 18 months to as long as four years if he is found guilty of the alleged betting misconduct.
