Gabriela Cavallin, aged 23 and the ex-girlfriend of Manchester United footballer Antony, is scheduled to travel to the UK for police interrogations.

The Telegraph reported that she will meet with Greater Manchester Police next Wednesday.

She has accused the Brazilian international footballer of assaulting her in a Manchester hotel room after United’s victory over Manchester City in January, a claim Antony denies.

Sao Paulo Civil Police are also conducting an investigation into this allegation, and Cavallin has chosen to reveal her identity while additionally alleging that Antony once attempted to eject her from a moving car while she was pregnant.

Antony, who recently returned to action for United as a substitute during their Champions League loss to Galatasaray, has been cooperating with both UK and Brazilian authorities.

The 23-year-old player has expressed his determination to clear his name in the face of these allegations. Manchester United announced his availability for selection last week after postponing his return from international duty.

Antony, formerly of Ajax and signed by United for £82 million last summer to reunite with Erik ten Hag, willingly participated in an interview with Greater Manchester Police last Thursday.

Manchester United issued a statement stating, “Since allegations were first made in June, Antony has co-operated with police inquiries in both Brazil and the UK, and he continues to do so.”

“As Antony’s employer, Manchester United has decided that he will resume training at Carrington, and be available for selection, while police inquiries proceed. This will be kept under review pending further developments in the case.”

“As a club, we condemn acts of violence and abuse. We recognise the importance of safeguarding all those involved in this situation, and acknowledge the impact these allegations have on survivors of abuse.”

Erik ten Hag has chosen not to provide additional comments beyond the statement and emphasized that the situation has not been a distraction, saying, “We make the statement, so I refer to the statement. I think everything has been made clear in the statement. No, I don’t think it’s a distraction. We focus on the games and he will do as well.”

Before Manchester United granted him a leave of absence last month, Antony released his own statement, asserting, “I want to reiterate my innocence of the things I have been accused of, and I will fully cooperate with the police to help them reach the truth. I look forward to returning to play as soon as possible.”
