WATCH: Leeds United’s manager Daniel Farke impresses with remarkable ball control skills, earning a standing ovation in win over Watford

During Saturday’s commanding 3-0 victory over Watford, Daniel Farke, the Leeds United manager, showcased an extraordinary display of ball control, prompting a standing ovation from the Leeds faithful.

In the dying moments of the match, with Leeds comfortably ahead at 3-0, Farke executed a remarkable touch to bring a ball to an abrupt halt after it had been kicked out of play.

The Elland Road crowd had already enjoyed a thrilling performance, with three goals courtesy of Joel Piroe, Sam Byram, and Jaidon Anthony paving the way for Leeds United’s first Championship win at Elland Road this season.

As Farke demonstrated his exceptional skill, Leeds fans rose to their feet, offering resounding chants of ‘sign him up’ that echoed through the ecstatic stadium. With an amused smile, the Leeds boss flicked the ball away and acknowledged the applause.

When asked about the incident, Farke humbly remarked, “If they would all have my quality on the ball it would be easy. Sadly I’m retired. There was loads of pressure, the ball was in the air for what it felt like two minutes. With normal shoes it was okay.”

This victory marked Leeds United’s fourth consecutive clean sheet, following goalless draws against Sheffield Wednesday and Hull City, as well as a 3-0 triumph over Millwall the previous weekend.

Reflecting on the win, Farke commented, “It was an exciting game, especially the second half. That we were able to return to the dressing room with a clean sheet was pleasing.”

“We created so many chances in the first half. In the second half we were able to turn our domination into goals. The focus was very pleasing for me and I am very pleased with the clean sheet.”

Leeds United now has a week to prepare for their upcoming match, scheduled for a 12.30pm kickoff next Saturday against Southampton. The Saints, who collected 10 points from their initial four games, have recently struggled, suffering four consecutive losses, including a 2-1 defeat by Middlesbrough on Saturday, despite Middlesbrough’s winless start to the Championship season.
