FIFA has revealed the nominees for this year’s Best Awards, with the shortlist for Best Men’s Player dominated by Premier League Stars including Kevin De Bruyne, Julian Alvarez, Erling Haaland, Rodri, Bernardo Silva, and Declan Rice. Cristiano Ronaldo’s omission has left fans upset despite his impressive performance for Al-Nassr in Saudi Arabia, scoring 20 goals and providing seven assists.
Fans expressed their dissatisfaction on social media, with one fan asking, “Where’s Ronaldo?” and another saying, “They forgot Ronaldo.” Lionel Messi, Ronaldo’s long-time rival, made the list despite his move to Inter Miami in MLS. Other nominees include Ilkay Gundogan, Marcelo Brozovic, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Kylian Mbappe, and Victor Osimhen.
FIFA also announced nominees for other awards, including Best Goalkeeper, where Andre Onana and Ederson are contenders, and Best Coach, where Ange Postecoglou, Pep Guardiola, Simone Inzaghi, Luciano Spalletti, and Xavi are nominated.
