2023 Royal Rumble Betting Odds

Royal Rumble 2023 Bets

You may be asking yourself, what do Royal Rumble 2023 bets have to do with a football website? First of all, shut up that’s what. Second, myself and Hott Joe are the world’s greatest gambling experts. Also, Roman Reigns, Big E, The Rock and Brock Lesnar all played football, so there. We look to make money anywhere, so here we go.

Lukewarm Jonah: We’re building up to the WWE Royal Rumble on January 28, and you know what that means. It’s the kickoff to the Road to Wrestlemania betting series by the Alpha Boys. I love writing about betting on predetermined outcomes so much, I should really do it more often. But I’m a busy, busy man. Or lazy. Or both. Anyways, it’s always a true honor to write with my partner, the man who breaks Jose Canseco boxing news like no other, Hott Joe.

Men’s Royal Rumble Picks

Let’s get to the men. Big meaty men slapping meat in the squared circle, that’s what we’re all about. I’m going to talk about a few of my favorite sleeper bets here before picking my winner. I want to start off with Riddle at 20 to 1. Riddle was “injured” by The Bloodline and can no longer challenge Roman Reigns due to a match they had in June. It was predictably a fantastic match. Well, there’s one way to get around that never challenge the world champion stipulation, the Royal Rumble. I also remember Riddle’s name being thrown around as a possible Rumble winner in the past.

How about Iowa’s favorite son? That’s right, I’m talking about Big E. Before he had that horrible neck injury, Big E was finally allowed to win the world championship. He’s a huge guy, super charismatic, and pretty good inside the ring. Big E has been out since March, if he returns at the Rumble he’ll get a huge pop and can believably battle Roman Reigns for a title.

There’s a two time Rumble winner, who’s a 14 time world champion, at 66 to 1 odds. Oh, he was also kayfabe injured by The Bloodline. Randy Orton may be done wrestling, but his music hitting followed by RKOs for everyone would be a huge story for Wrestlemania. Orton’s career may be over due to his legitimate injury, but if he’s healthy come Rumble time 66 to 1 is absolutely insane odds for him to have.

The Longshot

I want a triple digit sleeper in here. I’ve got former Rumble winners, and plenty of former world champions to choose from. But forget about the past chico, we’re going with the future. Obviously I’m talking about Omos. He’s tall, like really tall. Have you guys seen how tall Omos is? It’s really tall. Anyways, he’s 150 to 1 and they had this guy squash AJ Styles. He’s a credible physical threat to Reigns and you never know.

This probably won’t happen, but I’m going to will it into existence. My choice for Royal Rumble winner is Sami Zayn. Zayn and The Bloodline is by far the best thing going in professional wrestling. I really think WWE has a chance here to organically create a new Daniel Bryan. Zayn is one of the most talented performers in the company, he’s fantastic on the mic, and everyone loves him.

Once The Bloodline turns on him, they’re going to be the uber heels again. Sami makes them the “cool” heels, but once he’s been jumped out the crowd is going to boo The Bloodline like they did Elias in Seattle. The WWE is all about moments. The moment that Sami’s music hits after a multiple week absence to sell the beating, the crowd is going to absolutely lose it. Give me Sami Zayn at 3 to 1 and give me Sami or give me death.

HJ: I’m going to go with the obvious choice of a man who seemed to be on a rocket ship to greatness, but an injury derailed him shredding his way to the top. That’s right; I’m picking Rick Boogs to win the Royal Rumble.

Women’s Royal Rumble Picks

LJ: Helllllooooo Ladies. Oh what’s that? Val Venis is super problematic now? Jesus, OK well let’s take a look at the Women’s Royal Rumble odds.

The odds reflect the guesses for the two women’s world title matches at Wrestlemania. Becky Lynch vs. Ronda Rousey and Rhea Ripley vs. Bianca Belair. Hey, if you think those two matches are written in stone, you can bet both Becky and Rhea and at worst make 1.5 to 1 on your money. Not too shabby. Let’s look at a few longer odds propositions though. (Written before odds changed and Charlotte returned. Ripley is now paying even odds.)

Charlotte Flair is right behind Rhea Ripley at 4 to 1. Betting on Charlotte Flair winning a big match is never a bad idea. The WWE loves her so much and now HHH is in charge and probably willing to forget that pesky sexual assault his hero Ric committed. There’s just not much else to say besides the WWE loves them some Charlotte Flair and she’s third in the odds to win.

So I was really excited to write this article and wrote it before Charlotte came back and squashed Ronda Rousey. Rousey is now a 50 to 1 underdog, which seems like a bit of an overreaction. I think that’s literally the best bet here. Is Rousey done for awhile with wrestling? Maybe. If she’s not, she’s a very believable Rumble winner.

The Longshots

You know what else the WWE loves? Back muscles, AKA Raquel Rodriguez. 8 to 1 is pretty nice odds for a wrestler the WWE is seriously pushing. Rodriguez has been shown to be on Rousey’s level. Rousey had to injure Rodriguez before their title match and she still took her to the limit. If Rodriguez wins the Royal Rumble, she can challenge everyone’s favorite heel Charlotte and become a main eventer.

Asuka, what have they done to you? The most dominant woman in company history is a 14 to 1 underdog. But who’s back in charge? The same guy who booked Asuka as unbeatable during her entire NXT career? Daddy H is the man and he loves him some Asuka. Triple H rebuilding Asuka as a serious threat has to be on his to do list. Maybe he starts right here.

The biggest underdog I’d be willing to bet barely makes the triple digits. The WWE loves returns, just read my male Royal Rumble section. Carmella has been off tv for a couple of months, AKA a lifetime in WWE time. She’s the only woman they take seriously who’s a true longshot. A surprise return could mean Mella is Money at 100 to 1.

My official choice for the Women’s Royal Rumble is Becky Lynch at 2.5 to 1. I think favorite Rhea Ripley and Finn Balor fight Edge and Beth Phoenix, AKA the Grit Couple, at Wrestlemania. Becky is always a good opponent for Charlotte, so it just makes the most sense. Though as I mentioned, Ronda Rousey at 50 to 1 is worth a bet as well.

HJ: I’ll go Blair Davenport, since I’m originally from Davenport, Iowa, and I have to support pro wrestling’s greatest representative of Davenport.

Final Thoughts on Royal Rumble 2023 Bets

It feels like I was slightly more excited about this article than my partner Joe, maybe because I wrote about 10 times as much. You’ll never beat Vegas if you don’t get excited about betting on predetermined outcomes Joe. I do notice that Betonline doesn’t have the newly returned Vince McMahon on it’s odds list. He’s definitely at least triple digits and you can’t tell me there’s a less than one percent chance Vince uses his majority stock holdings to win the Rumble. He certainly doesn’t care what happens. Happy gambling folks, hope the WWE doesn’t get sold to Saudi Arabia.
