Australia National Cricket Team captain Pat Cummins held onto a beauty to send back the Pakistan National Cricket Team captain Babar Azam in the 18th match of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Friday, October 20.
Babar Azam is the No.1 ranked batsman in the ICC ODI Batting Rankings, but he has failed to perform up to the expectations in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023.
Before the Australia clash, Mohammad Babar Azam had scored 5, 10, and 50 runs in his first three matches of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 against the Netherlands, Sri Lanka, and India.
His poor form continued against the Aussies as he was back in the dugout after scoring a disappointing 18 runs off 14 balls, including 3 boundaries.
Adam Zampa came to bowl the 27th over of the innings and on the second ball, he got the big fish in Babar. The leg-spinner bowled a length ball at 88kph and Babar cleared his front leg for the pull. The ball went low towards Pat Cummins, who flew to his right at mid-wicket to take a superb catch.

Earlier, Pakistan won the toss and invited the Aussies to bat first in the match. The Pakistan bowlers started off poor in the match and they were smashed all over the M Chinnaswamy Stadium.
Pakistan skipper Babar used all the weapons in his arsenal but was unable to break the rock-solid partnership between Mitchell Marsh and star batter David Warner. The duo smashed brilliant centuries and added 259 runs to lay the foundation for a 400-plus total.
However, Pakistan, riding on the back of Shaheen Afridi’s 5-wicket haul, made a terrific comeback in the match and restricted Australia to 367/9 in 50 overs.
