KL Rahul showed his terrific skills behind the stumps in the ongoing match 17 of the ICC World Cup 2023 against Bangladesh. The keeper-batter took a staggering catch down the legside and was applauded by his teammates at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune.
KL Rahul took a blinder to dismiss Mehidy Hasan Miraz and brought his team back into the game. It happened on the first ball of the 25th over when Mohammed Siraj bowled a cross-seam delivery on a back of a length on leg-stump.
The ball angled down the leg side to which Mehidy Hasan Miraz tried to tickle it fine. It seemed that the ball would beat KL Rahul but he exhibited brilliant footwork. He moved to his left and put in a goalkeeper’s dive to gobble it with his left hand.

Mehidy Hasan Miraz managed just 3 runs off 13 balls and it was a big scalp for India as he has a good record against India. Mohammed Siraj surely would be crediting KL Rahul for the scalp.
Bangladesh after a solid opening start of 93 runs have crumbled. They faced a mini collapse as Indian spinners were all over them. From 93/0 they were reduced to 137 for four in no time. The onus will be now on Mushfiqur Rahim and other batters to take the team to a good total. On the other hand, India would be hoping to put more pressure on the batters and rattle them. Bangladesh are coming off a loss against New Zealand.

Litton Das was batting magnificently well in the game. However, a lapse in concentration saw him giving away his wicket. He tried to take the attack to Ravindra Jadeja and danced down the pitch for a big shot.
But he miscued it in the air, the ball went straight to long-off. Shubman Gill, who was stationed there, took an easy catch to dismiss the batter. The Bangladesh opener managed 68 runs off 82 balls and gave his team a fine start.
