Former Indian cricketer Irfan Pathan lashed out at Pakistan Cricket for their complaint over crowd antics during India vs Pakistan game in ICC World Cup 2023. He revealed that during his playing days, he was hit under his eye by a nail while playing in Pakistan.
Irfan Pathan’s comment came following PCB lodged an official complaint related to the behavior of the Indian crowd in Pakistan. Mohamad Rizwan dealt with religious comments as he was going upstairs after getting out. If this was not enough the crowd also threw paper planes towards Hasan Ali, who was fielding near the boundary rope.
ICC however, didn’t take any action and clearly mentioned that they won’t take any action, saying that a partisan crowd is expected as thousands of people attend the game and it’s not possible to identify them.
Irfan Pathan while revealing his incident said that they didn’t make an issue of it as they focused on playing cricket. He hit out at Pakistan, saying that they shouldn’t stretch things and stop making issues. Speaking on air during IND vs BAN game, he explained:
“We were playing a game in Peshawar, when a fan threw a nail at me, which struck me under my eye. I could have gotten seriously injured. The match was halted for 10 minutes, but we did not pay any heed to it as we were playing good cricket. Pakistan should stop making issues of crowd’s behaviour in India. They shouldn’t stretch things over here.”

Aakash Chopra lauded Irfan Pathan for not making the issue of a fan hitting him with a nail under his eye. He said that it was a good gesture by him to keep the big picture in mind. He explained;
“Didn’t know that fans in Peshawar threw a nail at Irfan, which hit him under the eye. Remember the game getting stopped for a bit bcoz of fan trouble but it’s only today I got to know the exact reason. Well done, for keeping the big-picture in mind. Love you bro.”
