IND vs BAN Match Preview– ICC World Cup 2023, Match 17. The IND vs BAN ICC World Cup 2023 match will be played in Pune on October 19, Thursday. The match starts at 2 pm IST and is the first of the five games to be played in Pune. Bangladesh plays two games at this venue.

India will be led by Rohit Sharma who has been in splendid form in the first three games. He is among the top run-getters in the tournament so far with 217 runs in three Matches. He has led from the front and has also rotated his bowlers very well. There are high hopes for him to lead a group of experienced players.

Bangladesh are heading into this game after back-to-back defeats against England and New Zealand. They have suffered big losses which is why they are down at seventh position on the points table. They have yet not played as a complete unit and have been completely outplayed by England and New Zealand.

The match will be played in Pune which has been a batting track for ODI matches. In seven matches, four matches have been won by the team batting first and three batting second. Pune is one of the 10 venues across India where World Cup matches will be played.

India

India have won three matches on the trot and are heading into this game with a lot of momentum. They have had a four-day rest after their win against Pakistan on Saturday. The players have rejuvenated themselves in the break and are ready now to play three more matches in next 10 days.

The Men in Blue seems to have found the right combination. However, Mohammed Siraj needs to work on his bowling after being expensive in the matches against Afghanistan and Pakistan. The other chance can be Ravichandran Ashwin in place of Shardul Thakur. Thakur is not being used regularly with the ball and thus Ashwin’s experience will come in handy.

India Squad for ICC World Cup 2023: Rohit Sharma (c), Hardik Pandya (vc), Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, KL Rahul, Ravindra Jadeja, Shardul Thakur, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj, Kuldeep Yadav, Mohammed Shami, Ravichandran Ashwin, Ishan Kishan, Suryakumar Yadav

Bangladesh

Bangladesh are sweating over the fitness of Shakib Al Hasan who had a quadricep injury in the match against New Zealand. He injured himself while batting but came back to bowl his quota of overs. Later he was taken for scans when his injury was revealed.

Two back-to-back losses for Bangladesh have taken the sting out of the Bangladesh side. They are also struggling to find the right combination. With Shakib injured, there are doubts over his participation in the game against India. Their bowling attack will weaken if he fails to get fit for in time for the game. With Indian bowlers in good form and exploiting the batting weakness of Pakistan, Bangladesh should look to avoid a batting collapse.

Bangladesh Squad for ICC World Cup 2023: Shakib Al Hasan (c), Litton Kumer Das, Tanzid Hasan Tamim, Najmul Hossain Shanto (vc), Tawhid Hridoy, Mushfiqur Rahim, Mahmudullah Riyad, Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Nasum Ahmed, Shak Mahedi Hasan, Taskin Ahmed, Mustafizur Rahman, Hasan Mahmud, Shoriful Islam, Tanzim Hasan Sakib.
