Australian opener David Warner has been completely electric on the field in the ongoing match 14 of the ICC World Cup 2023 against Sri Lanka. The batter has done a terrific job on the field as he has taken brilliant catches.
David Warner also won the hearts of many after the rain stopped the game. The Australian batter was seen helping the ground staff as they were bringing in the covers. The opener pulled the covers to the field and the video of the incident went viral on the internet.
David Warner will be vital for his team’s chances with the bat in the game. Australia have lost two out of their two games and are under some pressure. They are desperate for the win and for that, they need to play well. The opener has looked in good touch and smashed a vital half-century in the first game.

Coming to the game, Sri Lanka won the toss and opted to bat first. Pathum Nissanka (61) and Kusal Mendis batted brilliantly and added 125 runs for the opening partnership. They put Australia under immense pressure but Captain Pat Cummins brought them back.
Pat Cummins removed both the openers in a flash before Adam Zampa also struck. The leg-spinner removed Kusal Mendis (9) and Sadeera Samarawickrama (8) on his two consecutive balls. After the rain play, Mitchell Starc sent Dhananjaya de Silva packing for 7 runs. They made a remarkable comeback after being taken to runs early on.
Apart from David Warner, captain Pat Cummins has been electric on the field as well. The fast bowler has led from front and apart from taking two wickets, he also effected a run out that saw Dunith Wellalage back in the hut.
Micthell Starc bowled a low full toss to which Dunith Wellalage pushed towards mid-off. Pat Cummins came charging towards the ball and used his bullet arm which toppled the stumps to remove the all-rounder for 2 runs.
