Former Indian cricketer Irfan Pathan hit back at Shoaib Akhtar, who took a dig at Indian fans after Pakistan were off to a flying start. Match 12 of the ICC World Cup 2023 took place at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
The crowd at the Narendra Modi Stadium has been buzzing and it’s all blue. After Pakistan were asked to bat first, they had a great start as Abdullah Shafique (20) and Imam-ul-Haq (36) played some breathtaking strokes and added 41 runs for the opening partnership.
It seemed that they would go past 300 runs. And at the moment the crowd at the stadium got absolutely numbed. There wasn’t a single cheer as Pakistan’s openers hit boundaries. Seeing this Shoaib Akhtar took a jibe at fans, saying “Wah re yeh khamosh chokkay!!

However, after his tweet, India’s crowd were up again as bowlers were all over the Pakistan batters. The team suffered a collapse as they from 155/3 and then within a flash were bundled out for just 191 runs. Captain Babar Azam (50) and Mohammad Rizwan (49) were the top scorers whereas the rest of the batters failed to cross the 40-run mark.

As Indian bowlers made an astonishing comeback in the game, Irfan Pathan hit back at Shoaib Akhtar for his jibe at the Indian fans. The former Indian pacer said that there’s silence among Pakistan fans.

For India, Mohammad Siraj, Jasprit Bumrah, Kuldeep Yadav, Hardik Pandya, and Ravindra Jadeja bagged two wickets each and put Pakistan in trouble. The Pakistan batters played some bad shots as well. They lost their last 8 wickets for just 36 runs. India in the chase have starred aggressively with skipper Rohit Sharma in charge. Although they have lost two wickets, they look favourites to win.
