South Africa Playing 11 vs Australia – ICC World Cup 2023, Match 10

South Africa Playing 11 vs Australia – ICC World Cup 2023, Match 10. South Africa takes on Australia in Lucknow on October 12, Thursday in their second game of the World Cup. This is the second game for Australia as well and the first of five ICC World Cup 2023 games in Lucknow.

South Africa are heading into this match after their emphatic win over Sri Lanka in their campaign opener. Three of their batters scored centuries as they posted the highest World Cup score at 428/5 and broke all sorts of batting records in the process.

They will now head to Lucknow where they will be playing at a completely different surface than what they got in Delhi. This surface offers much more turn than the Kotla and that is where the South African batters need to adapt themselves.

The side gave a glimpse of their ability in the very first match of their campaign. Their batting was a statement sent out to other teams as to what they can expect from the Proteas. However, they need to adapt to the changing surfaces across different venues and Lucknow poses a different kind of challenge.

A total of 48 games will take place among 10 teams during ICC World Cup 2023 across 10 venues around India. The top four teams will make the semi-finals with the final to be played on November 19.

Against Australia, South Africa have a good record in ODIs, winning 54 out of the 108 matches played. In World Cups, they have won two out of the six matches played against each other. Against Australis, they need to bring in an additional spinner in Tabraiz Shamsi in place of a seamer. The Proteas will continue to miss Anrich Nortje who is ruled out with a lower back stress fracture.
