IND vs PAK: Watch – Ground Staff Use Never-Seen-Before Method To Dry Up The Outfield During India vs Pakistan Clash

The IND vs PAK Super 4 game in Colombo has been called off on Sunday after continuous Rain prevented the game from starting again. The match now moves into the reserve day (September 11) with India resuming from 147/2 after 24.1 overs. Earlier in the day, Pakistan won the toss and opted to bowl first.

Indian openers Rohit Sharma (56) and Shubman Gill (58) added a 121-run opening stand to give India a great start. Pakistan struck in the 17th over with Shadab Khan dismissing Rohit Sharma. In the very next over Gill was dismissed by Shaheen Shah Afridi with a nice slower delivery. After their dismissal, Virat Kohli (8*) and KL Rahul (17*) added a 24-run stand before rain disrupted play in the 25th over forcing the players to leave the Ground.

The umpires along with the Ground Staff made their best efforts to get the ground ready. However, rain came down once again dashing hopes of any more play possible tonight. In between, the ground staff were seen drying out some of the patchy areas of the ground with a few electric fans. It was almost a never-before-seen before sight on a cricket ground.

IND vs PAK: Super 4 Match Moves Onto Reserve Day

While the rain stopped, the umpires and the ground staff managed to bring out a few fans to dry up some patch areas on the field. The umpires Chris Gaffaney, and Ruchira Palliyaguruge spoke to the television broadcaster hoping that their play would resume by nine but it did not happen.

Chances of rain on Sunday were as high as 90 percent and after a bright sunny start to the game, the rain eventually played spoilsport. The ACC had earlier decided to shift the Super 4 matches to Hambantota from Colombo but then decided to make a U-turn on their decision despite knowing the rain threat as per trusted weather channels.

The play has been finally called off and the match will resume on Monday (September 11) from the point where it ended on Sunday. India will resume from 24.1 overs with a score of 147/2.
