The 29-year-old Pakistan National Cricket Team all-rounder Agha Salman got out after playing a poor knock for his side in the Asia Cup 2023 opener against Nepal National Cricket Team at the Multan Cricket Stadium on Wednesday, August 30.

Salman joined his skipper Babar Azam in the middle after the bizarre run-out dismissal of the wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan in the 24th over to the innings when the Men In Green were at 111/3.

Salman scored just 5 runs off 14 balls, before walking back to the hut. On the fifth ball of the 28th over, Sandeep Lamichhane bowled a delivery outside off-stump and Salman went for a reverse sweep. He wasn’t able to make a good connection with the ball and hit it straight to backward point, where the fielder Kushal Bhurtel took a good catch diving forward.

Earlier, Pakistan won the toss and chose to bat first in the match. The opening batsmen Imam-ul-Haq and Fakhar Zaman were unable to provide their side with a good start as both the batters got out for low scores.

After losing the openers, Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan steadied the ship by stitching up a terrific partnership. The star batters added 86 runs together in 106 balls before the dismissal of Rizwan.

At the time of writing, Babar Azam was batting in the 90s alongside Iftikhar Ahmed in the middle and both batters were looking terrific against the Nepal bowling unit. The score of the side was 196 at the loss of 4 wickets after 37 overs.
