England Test opener Zak Crawley is considering entering IPL 2024 auction to make a comeback into England’s white-ball setup. Crawley has played three ODIs for England and is yet to play T20I international cricket for his country. Crawley made his ODI debut in 2021 with England whitewashing Pakistan 3-0 in an ODI series.
Crawley scored 480 runs for England in the recently concluded Ashes series at a strike rate of 88.72 and an average of 53.33. He faced just 541 balls for his runs in the series.
Crawley is eyeing to be a part of England’s ODI team which will tour West Indies in December with the side looking to rest their premier white-ball players after the World Cup. Crawley is also eyeing a return to the BBL.

“I’d love to go on that tour. We’ll have to see how selection goes but the Caribbean is an awesome place to play – and I haven’t had the chance to go on a white ball tour for England yet, so any opportunity I get would be awesome. If they want me for that tour, I’d absolutely love to go,” Crawley told ESPNcricinfo.

With the retirement of Alex Hales from international cricket, England are looking for his replacement in white-ball format and Crawley is interested in that spot.
“There’s obviously a few guys ahead of me at the moment. But if I score some runs then hopefully my name starts getting thrown into the hat,” Crawley said on replacing Hales.

England next play a Test series against India in Januaty-March next year. The explosive right-hander said that he is looking to make the most of opportunities in the meantime.
“I’m trying to look at where I can go, which leagues, before the tour of India. I went to the Big Bash last year and loved it so if they would want me back then that would certainly be something I’d consider” Crawley said.
The England opener spoke about nominating himself in the next Ipl Auction saying “It’s the biggest franchise tournament in the world. It’s the only place to see all the best playing against each other. It’s great cricket and to be able to test yourself in that tournament would be awesome.”
