Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) have roped in former Australian cricketer Justin Langer as the head coach of the team for the upcoming editions of the Indian Premier League (IPL). The franchise first dropped a massive hint of the same as they posted a picture of Justin Timberlake along with people having Langer.
But minutes after that they confirmed the development as they announced the news on their social media accounts. This comes after Andy Flower’s two-year contract with the franchise ended and they parted ways with the former Zimbabwe cricketer.

Since the last few weeks, there have been quite a few reports which suggested that LSG management had quite a few discussions with Justin Langer and both parties even met each other in London. However, the reports have now emerged to be true.

“Lucknow Super Giants are on the journey of building a great story in the IPL. We all have a role to play in that journey and I am excited to be a part of the team moving forward,” Justin Langer said in an official statement issued by LSG.
It’ll be a massive boost for Lucknow Super Giants as Justin Langer has a great record as a coach and the franchise would be hoping him to take them to the glory. The former Australian coach won T20 World Cup 2021 with his national team and also under him Perth Scorchers won three Big Bash League titles in the first four years.

Justin Langer will now be joining the likes of Gautam Gambhir, Morne Morkel, Jonty Rhodes, and Vijay Dahiya as a part of the coaching setup of the Lucknow Super Giants. Under Andy Flower, the team qualified for the playoffs for two consecutive years but couldn’t get past Eliminator in both editions.

IPL 2024: Lucknow Super Giants finished at No.3 on the points table in IPL 2023
Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), who qualified for the playoffs in IPL 2022, had a stellar outing in the IPL 2023 as well as they played a decent brand of cricket and were among the top teams of the tournament. LSG qualified for the playoffs this season as well but couldn’t manage to reach the glory.
They suffered a disappointing loss against Mumbai Indians in the Eliminator of the IPL 2023 and were eliminated. They would be hoping to go two steps ahead in the next season and win their maiden title in the league.
