The legendary captain has always shown a lot of faith in the pacer and the latter has delivered most of the time. Recently, Chahar played a key role in Chennai Super Kings’ 5th title win in the Indian Premier League (IPL).

In the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023, he played 10 matches and bagged 13 wickets at an average of 22.85, an economy of 8.74, and a strike rate of 15.69. His best bowling figures of 3/22 came against Delhi Capitals in CSK’s last league match of the season.

On July 9, MS Dhoni and his wife, Sakshi, arrived in Chennai for the trailer and audio launch of their maiden production venture, Let’s Get Married (LGM). The pair received a grand welcome at the Chennai airport.
Meanwhile, on the sidelines of the audio and trailer launch of LGM on July 10, MS Dhoni spoke about his bonding with Chahar in a hilarious manner.
“Deepak Chahar is like a drug, if he is not there, you would think, where is he – if he is around, you would think, why he is here – good part is that he is maturing but he takes time & that is the problem, in my lifetime, I won’t see him matured (smiles),” MS Dhoni said.

MS Dhoni also said that Chennai is very close to his heart because several big moments of his life have come in Chennai.
“My Test debut was in Chennai, My highest Test score was in Chennai, now my first production movie in Tamil – Chennai is more special to me, I was adopted here long back,” Dhoni said.
Recently, MS Dhoni underwent successful knee surgery at the Kokilaben Hospital in Mumbai after playing the IPL 2023 season with a heavily strapped left knee. Following CSK’s title victory, MS Dhoni hinted that he will try his best to play one more season for Chennai Super Kings.
