Chennai Super Kings (CSK) bowler Deepak Chahar said that the Indian Premier League (IPL) had a huge impact on Indian Cricket, noting that the tournament helped players like Suryakumar Yadav and Ishan Kishan adopt an aggressive approach in international cricket.
The Indian cricket team has benefited from the IPL, which has generated several great players. Hardik Panyda, Jasprit Bumrah, Suyrakumar Yadav, Yuzvendra Chahal, and many other cricketers made their India debuts following their success in the cash-rich league.

During an interaction with Gaurav Kapur via his popular chat show Breakfast with Champions, Deepak Chahar said that the youngsters are financially stable with the good salaries from the IPL franchises.
“IPL ne jo Indian cricket ko diya hai ya players ko diya hai vo bahut kuch hai. Ek toh platform wise bhi, 40,000-50,000 logo k saamne pehli baar khel rahe ho aap, vo pressure, vo har aadmi handle nahi kar sakta. Abhi vo saari cheej har aadmi IPL mein dekh leta hai,” Deepak Chahar said.

“Jo pressure India ke liye khelne mein hai, wahi idhar hai. Waha par ulta aur jyada motivation hai ki aap country ke liye khel rahe ho. Waha aur jyada motivate ho k khelte ho aur 100% dete ho. Aur aapko paise ka bhi tension nahi hai. Kyuki aaj ki taarik mein jitne bhi youngsters hai unko financially dikkat nahi hai jab vo India ke liye khelte hai,” he added.
“Unko already theek-thaak paisa milta hai IPL mein. Isliye Ishan Kishan aur Suryakumar jaise players jaa k pehli ball par chakka maar sakte hai aaj international cricket mein, nahi to pehle kisi mein dum nahi tha ki pehli ball oar chakka maarne ka soch bhi le,” he concluded.

Suryakumar Yadav made his T20I debut against England in 2021, where he smashed six off Jofra Archer’s bowling on his first ball in international cricket. Notably, Ishan Kishan also hammered six off his first ball on his ODI debut against Sri Lanka in 2021.
Suryakumar sealed his place in the shorter format of international cricket. However, the right-handed batter failed to replicate his success in other formats. Ishan has been part of the national team across the format, but he isn’t consistent with his performances.

Deepak Chahar will be next seen in action when the four-time IPL champion Chennai Super Kings take on the Hardik Pandya-led Gujarat Titans in the final match of the tournament at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Sunday, May 28.
