KKR vs RR: “Rohit Sharma Needs To Take A Leaf Out Of That Book” – Scott Styris Lauds Jos Buttler’s Knock Against Sunrisers Hyderabad

Former New Zealand cricketer Scott Styris praised Jos Buttler and said that the Rajasthan Royals (RR) opener showed maturity against the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in Jaipur on Sunday, May 7. Scott Styris believes that Mumbai Indian (MI) skipper Rohit Sharma should approach his innings like Jos Buttler to return to form in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023.

Jos Buttler played a sensational knock of 95 runs off 59 balls, with the help of 10 fours and four sixes. The right-handed batter started the innings at a slow pace and scored 20 runs in his first 20 deliveries. Later, the England white-ball skipper accelerated his innings and helped the Rajasthan Royals reach a mammoth total of 214 runs for the loss of two wickets in 20 overs.

Buttler Showed Maturity For Rajasthan – Scott Styris

Speaking on Jio Cinema, Scott Styris suggested that Rohit Sharma could take some time to settle at the crease before trying his shots.

“When you think about Jos Buttler, he is a player who knows he has the power game to comeback (after a slow start). We have been talking about it for a few games that Rohit Sharma needs to take a leaf out of that book,” he added.

“Exactly the innings that he should look to play. Take 20 balls and then go through the gears because Rohit Sharma is a talented man like Jos Buttler. Buttler showed maturity for Rajasthan,” Scott Styris told Jio Cinema.

He Said He Put His Ego To The Side – Scott Styris

Scott Styris praised Buttler’s interview after his innings, which gave an insight into how he planned his innings. The former cricketer said that Buttler waited some time to get into a rhythm and then started playing big shots.

“His interview was brilliant. It gave us an insight into his methodology and his thought process. He said he hadn’t quite got into his rhythm, he did not use the word form but he said he did not have rhythm with the way he had been playing in the last few games. He said he put his ego to the side and worked his way until he felt he could start going after the bowlers,” he concluded.
