Wasim Akram, an elite pace bowler from Pakistan, believes that if MS Dhoni had been the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) team captain, they would have already won three IPL championships. Akram believed that Dhoni’s composure and capacity to inspire confidence in his team would have greatly aided RCB.
With four titles under their belt, CSK is the league’s second-most successful team, while Virat’s RCB has yet to take home their first. Bangalore has twice reached the finals, however both times they came in second place.

Wasim Akram was asked what would have happened if MS Dhoni had been the captain of the Royal Challengers Bangalore team during an exclusive interview with Sportskeeda Cricket’s “What If” segment. Despite possessing some of the best teams in IPL history, Dhoni has won the championship four times, but RCB has failed to do so.

In response to the inquiry regarding Dhoni and the RCB, Wasim Akram stated: “RCB would have won 3 IPL trophies by now if MS Dhoni was their captain. They have not won a single trophy until now. They have so much support. Also, they have the world’s top modern-era player Virat, but unfortunately, they have not won. If Dhoni was in RCB, he would have helped them win the title.”

“Dhoni has a habit of captaining a team. Captaincy is also a habit. Even Virat would have been habituated by now, but Dhoni has had this habit. He is not calm from the inside, but he shows that he is calm. When players see that their captain is chilled, and keeps his hand on their shoulders, players become more confident. Dhoni is the current captain of the Chennai Super Kings in the IPL 2023. After 11 games, CSK is second in the standings with 13 points.
