Former Australia pacer Brett Lee has heaped high praise on Gujarat Titans (GT) spin-maestro Rashid Khan, calling the Afghanistan cricketer one of the best bowlers in the world.

Rashid is showing his class once again in IPL 2023. One of the greatest bowlers in league history, the 24-year-old is currently joint highest wicket-taker with teammate Mohammed Shami this season with 18 in just ten matches.

In his most recent match against Rajasthan Royals (RR), Rashid Khan spun webs around the batsmen, finishing with the figures of 3/14, and was named the Player of the Match.

During the post-match discussion on Jio Cinema, Brett Lee commended Rashid Khan for his outstanding performance against RR.

“Rashid is loved all across the world. What an asset he is for his own country. He can demonstrate his athleticism, the way he out-thinks batsmen, I think he bowled beautifully again today. He’s had a bit of a hard run in the last two or three games but today he proved again why he is among the best in the world. 3/14 in four overs and once again he was outstanding,” he said.

RP Singh lauds Rashid Khan and rest of the GT bowling attack

Gujarat Titans (GT) have emerged as one of the best bowling sides in IPL 2023. With a lethal combination of pace and spin, they have the ability to blow any batting order out of the park. Former India cricketer RP Singh has now praised GT’s bowling unit.

Spearheaded by Rashid Khan and Mohammad Shami, GT have seen rising stars like Afghanistan’s Noor Ahmad and Ireland’s Josh Little appear on the grand stage. With Hardik Pandya looking in shape, and Mohit Sharma coming out of nowhere, the Titans undoubtedly have a great bowling attack.

RP Singh agreed as he said this while appearing as a pundit on Jio Cinema,

“Mohammed Shami seems to be improving day by day and he also holds the purple cap for now. Hardik Pandya too is bowling well. On the other hand, their spin department has been bowling very well. Rashid Khan and Noor have been bowling beautifully. These four have formed a well-knit bowling unit. Then they have introduced Mohit Sharma after a long time. Every player is performing their role to perfection,” he said.

With seven wins out of ten matches in the bag, Gujarat Titans are all but confirmed for a spot in the playoffs. They would now like to cement a place in the top two as they take on Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in their next match on May 7.
