Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) registered a comfortable win against Delhi Capitals (DC). SRH won the match by 9  runs and now have 3 wins (*6  points) from 8 matches with an NRR (net run rate) of -0.57. The right-arm leg spinner Mayank Markande was the destroyer in chief who took 2 wickets and gave away only 20 runs on a belter in his 4-over spell.

DC didn’t panic even after losing David Warner early in the power-play overs as Philip Salt & Mitchell Marsh were involved in a massive partnership of 112 runs. The duo smashed blistering half centuries but their dismissal brought SRH back into the game.

The spinners Akeal Hossain, Mayank Markande & Abhishek Sharma took 4 wickets between them and most importantly they applied breaks in the middle overs phase. DC fans would be utterly disappointed as once again the middle order failed as Axar Patel’s cameo of 29 runs in 14 balls wasn’t enough to take the team over the finish line.

Earlier in the match, SRH posted a challenging total of 197-6. The elegant left-handed batter Abhishek Sharma played a terrific knock of 67 runs in 36 balls as he struck 12 fours and 1 six. At the back end of the innings, it was the brilliance of Heinrich Klaasen who scored 53 runs in 27 balls as he struck 2 fours & 4 sixes.

Mitchell Marsh deceived SRH’s batters with his variations as he took 4 scalps and gave away 27 runs in his 4-over spell. The likes of Mukesh Kumar & Anrich Nortje were taken to the cleaners which hurt the team a lot.
