Former South African cricketer Imran Tahir recently described the moment MS Dhoni stumped AB de Villiers during an IPL match. Tahir stated that even after so many years, he constantly replays the moment because Dhoni’s wicket-keeping was fantastic.

The event occurred during a match between the Chennai Super Kings and the Royal Challengers Bangalore, during which de Villiers was batting extraordinarily well and posing a big threat to the Chennai team. Imran Tahir, a former South African spinner who played with MS Dhoni for RPS and CSK, praised MSD, claiming, “He is the best.” In a recent interview with the Lallantop, Tahir provided a glimpse into the thoughts of his captain MS Dhoni and made remarks on both his leadership and superb wicketkeeping.

The RCB star batsman AB de Villiers was defeated by the leg-spinner Imran Tahir’s flight during an IPL 2017 match between Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Rising Pune Supergiant (RPS) at M. Chinnaswamy stadium in Bengaluru. RPS wicket-keeper MS Dhoni displayed his mastery by quickly removing the bails. Tahir and Dhoni teamed together to send De Villiers back to the pavilion, which helped their team win the match.

Tahir recalled RCB’s AB de Villiers being stumped out at lightning speed by Dhoni, saying, “I do watch highlights of that stumping where all three stumps were uprooted within seconds.”

” If we talk about him, we need one to two hours. There are a lot of things to talk about him. He is cool and a good decision-maker at the same time. Since he is a wicketkeeper-batsman so he knows what a spinner wants to do in a certain situation in the match. So Dhoni shares his experience with the spinners as he wants them to perform well for the team. Even if when a spinner concedes more runs, he comes and discusses things and plans for the wicket which I personally have done so many times” Imran Tahir added.

Tahir went unsold in the February mega auction after CSK released him post-IPL 2021.
