KKR vs RCB: “One Day They Call You The Future Of India, The Next Day…” – Mohammed Siraj Reacts To Criticism On Social Media

The Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) pacer Mohammed Siraj has spoken about the trolling he receives on social media, saying that it is difficult to understand why someone is being abused for no reason. Mohammed Siraj has previously faced criticism on social media for his death bowling abilities in the Indian Premier League (IPL), where he failed to contain runs.

Mohammed Siraj improved his bowling and became the leader of the bowling attack for the Royal Challengers in the IPL. The 29-year-old bowled a brilliant spell with the new ball against the Mumbai Indians (MI), conceding 5 runs in his 3 overs, including the wicket of Ishan Kishan. Siraj finished his spell with 21 runs in RCB’s 8-wicket win over Mumbai on Sunday.

A Guy Is Getting Abused For No Reason At All – Mohammed Siraj

Speaking on the RCB podcast, Mohammed Siraj said the abuse on social media kills players’ motivation. Siraj said it is difficult to understand being praised one day and criticized the next day.

“It is easy to write abuses. But you don’t know anything about his struggle. How can you abuse someone, then? Those messages kill your motivation. A guy is getting abused for no reason at all. Why? What’s next? One day they call you the future of India, the next day, they claim you are nothing and should drive an auto. I don’t understand this,” Siraj said on RCB Podcast.

“When you perform well, people start praising you so much, You are such a good bowler, next level. When I was retained, it was called as best retention. Now they question why I was retained. There was no need for you to be retained. You aren’t good enough to play cricket,” he added.

Ups And Downs Are Part Of Life – Mohammed Siraj

Siraj thanked his fans for their support but advised them not to abuse anyone. The right-arm fast bowler emphasised that ups and downs are a part of life and that appreciating everyone is important as a human.

“Thank you for all the support but don’t abuse anyone. Ups and downs are part of life. That’s all I can say. The rest is up to you. You are aware of our struggle and still behave like that with us. That doesn’t affect us much, but as a human, all I can ask from you is respect everyone,” he concluded.

Mohammed Siraj will be seen in action when the Royal Challengers Bangalore take on the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in their second match of the season. This match will take place at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Thursday, April 6.
