Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Australian counterpart Anthony Albanese are present at the Narendra Modi stadium for the fourth IND vs AUS Test match. Their presence was to celebrate the momentous occasion of 75 years of friendship between India and Australia.
Before the toss, Narendra Modi handed over the cap to Rohit Sharma while Anthony Albanese handed over the cap to Steve Smith. They presided across the stadium together on the momentous occasion of the 75th anniversary of the Indo-Australian friendship.

BCCI President Roger Binny and BCCI secretary Jay Shah felicitated the two Prime Ministers. While Binny felicitated the Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, Shah felicitated the customary for the Indian PM Narendra Modi.
Thereafter both the captains introduced the respective PM’s to their teammates. Both eminent personalities met all the players and extended their warm wishes before the start of the Test match. Both the captains introduced the players one by one. Indian PM Narendra Modi was seen talking animatedly with former Indian skipper Virat Kohli.

Australia won the toss and opted to bat first. They have fielded an unchanged side that defeated Team India in the third Test. India, on the other hand, dropped Mohammed Siraj as Mohammed Shami is back into the XI.
Indian skipper Rohit Sharma said at the toss that he wanted to bat first while adding that the squad has regrouped together after the defeat and are excited about this Test match. He also said that he is expecting this pitch to play a lot better and stay the same across five days.
“We would have batted first. We know what needs to be done. Siraj is rested and Shami is back. It’s always nice to have some time off. We need to regroup as a team, you can reflect on so many things. Not the surface what we saw in the first three Tests, looks a good pitch, I hope it stays the same for all five days” said Rohit at the toss.
Meanwhile, this Test match is a must-win for India to qualify for the WTC final. A loss will knock them out of the race for the final.
