In terms of food, former India captain Virat Kohli is stringent, extra cautious, and vigilant about what he consumes. He is a fitness obsessive. But, it appears that Kohli the “foodie” has reclaimed the spotlight during the Border-Gavaskar Cup. Images of Kohli jumping for joy upon seeing “Chhole Kulche” in the locker room during the second Test at Delhi’s Arun Jaitley Stadium quickly went viral.
It caused such a ruckus on social media and among Kohli’s supporters that, following the victory, India’s coach Rahul Dravid was genuinely asked what was in the food delivery that so quickly made Kohli’s somber mood lighter.

The fourth Test between India and Australia, which is now being played at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium, is the trailer for how much Virat Kohli enjoys eating if the Delhi Test was merely a preview. The camera showed Kohli standing at second slip and munching just before Mohammed Shami began to deliver the 22nd over and Marnus Labuschagne was set to take strike.
When the ball was being delivered, the former India skipper was spotted putting something that seemed to be a protein/energy bar into his pocket.

Labuschagne defended it, and Virat Kohli’s hands immediately retreated to his pocket before pulling the bat back out. Yet, he wasn’t enjoying it alone this time. While Shreyas Iyer stood next to him at the third slip, Kohli then extended the bar to his colleague. Iyer received it from Kohli after some convincing, and as the game continued, he snuffed it into his pocket.
Amazingly, only two balls later, Mohammad Shami returned with finesse to remove Marnus Labuschagne for the second wicket to fall for Australia.
As he continued to rally the audience to support Team India, Virat Kohli was once again in the middle of things. Before that, Prime Minister Narendra Modi joined the Indian team in singing the National Anthem before the Ahmedabad Test began, and Kohli and India skipper Rohit Sharma stood next to him. Upon meeting each member of the squad, Modi’s conversation with Kohli got the greatest applause.
Virat Kohli was in a good mood before the Test game began as he and his teammates celebrated Holi. Shubman Gill shared a video of Kohli performing “Calm Down” as Team India gathered to wish their supporters a Happy Holi. Kohli was seen getting colored by Rohit Sharma inside the squad van in another video released by the BCCI.
On what seems to be the greatest pitch of the series, Australia’s acting captain Steve Smith chose to bat after winning the toss. Australia reached 75/2 at lunchtime thanks to one wicket each from Mohammad Shami and Ravichandran Ashwin.
