He hasn’t made a Test half-century since January 2022 against South Africa in Johannesburg, so his bad form extends beyond this series as well. In December 2021, Rahul scored his last Test century against the same opposition.

On the other hand, Shubman Gill has been pounding on the Indian Test team’s door for a while now. In 13 Test matches, he has amassed 736 runs, including one century and four half-centuries. Along with his stellar performance in the longest format, Gill has also been in outstanding form in ODIs and T20Is.

In the Indore Test, Shubman Gill will pair with captain Rohit Sharma for his long-awaited opportunity to start the innings for India in Test cricket. Gill is renowned for his aggressive strokeplay and his quick-fire run production.
