Shoaib Akhtar, a former fast bowler for Pakistan, was recently caught on live television mocking Kamran Akmal’s English. The incident happened just a few days after he attracted significant media notice for disparaging Babar Azam’s communication abilities.
Akhtar and Akmal both participated in a panel discussion for an ARY News program in Pakistan. Akhatar began his remarks to the anchor by praising the keeper-batter and noting how his former comrade had made a substantial contribution to the accomplishments of the national team.

He mentioned that Akmal, like many other Pakistani players, struggles with English. He mocked the 41-year-old, claiming he couldn’t even utter the word “screen” correctly.
“Kami is our match winner…he must be listening to this,” Shoaib Akhtar said. “He has played really well for Pakistan. Mai sun raha tha, ye bhi keh raha tha sakreen…sakreen ni hota hai, screen hota hai (I heard him speak, he was saying ‘sakreen’. It’s screen and not sakreen)” Shoaib Akhtar said.

On a different broadcast, Akmal responded to such accusations by joking that the former pacer only said those things to stay in the spotlight. Also, he noted that Babar received more commercials than Akhtar.

Shoaib Akhtar emphasized that his remarks on Babar Azam’s communication abilities were not intended to belittle him on the aforementioned show.
He emphasized that while Virat Kohli of India is frequently compared to the Pakistani batter, it is crucial to remember that Kohli speaks English quite well. Babar’s brand value should increase dramatically, Akhtar said, adding: “I did not intend to belittle Babar. I only wanted Babar Azam to grow as a brand. You all compare him to Virat Kohli, but you should see how fluently Virat speaks. I believe that Babar Azam is as big as Virat Kohli.”
Babar Azam has recently been Pakistan’s best player. He received the ICC Player of the Year and ICC Men’s ODI Cricketer of the Year honors for his outstanding bat work last season.
