Vinicius will not finally go to the Games

Vinicius Junior will not be at the Olympic Games in Tokyo. The Madridista does not appear in Brazil’s definitive list, a 22-player squad that includes Reinier and Richarlison, a last-minute signing.

André Jardine, the Olympic coach of the ‘Seleçao’, announced his list and Vini, who has not been released by Real Madrid to participate in an event he was particularly looking forward to, is not on it.

The white club has not agreed to Brazil’s request to have Vinicius in Tokyo. After agreeing the decision with Ancelotti, Madrid has decided to give the refusal so that the Italian can start to bring out the best version of Vinicius from day one. On the contrary, Reinier is.

The list is headed by Dani Alves, who at 38 years of age will once again take part in the Olympic Games. Richarlison, who is playing the Copa America with Brazil and is a key player for Tite, also stands out among the selected players.

The Everton striker was called up in place of Pedro, a Flamengo striker who the Brazilian club also refused to release.

Brazil’s roster for the Games is as follows:

Goalkeepers: Brenno (Gremio), Santos (Athletico Paranaense) and Lucao (Vasco da Gama).

Midfielders: Bruno Guimaraes (Lyon-FRA), Matheus Henrique (Gremio), Claudinho (Bragantino), Douglas Luiz (Aston Villa-ING), Douglas Augusto (Paok-GRE) and Reinier (Borussia Dortmund-ALE).

Forwards: Antony (Ajax-HOL), Matheus Cunha (Hertha Berlin-ALE), Paulinho (Bayer Leverkusen-ALE), Martinelli (Arsenal-ING) and Richarlison (Everton-ING).
