Jay-Z revealed which Premier League team he supports to clears up false rumours

Jay-Z was quick to insist that he didn't support Manchester City after being spotted at one of their fixtures - clearing up the rumours by revealing his true allegiance

Jay-Z said he was 'really glad' he could tell people that he didn't support Manchester City after being spotted at one of their fixtures.

The leading rapper, producer and entrepreneur couldn't wait to confirm that he supported Arsenal way back in 2010 and even offered free tickets to his upcoming shows to their star players.

Born Shawn Corey Carter, Jay-Z has had an affiliation with the Gunners since their time under the guidance of Arsene Wenger, a time in which he chatted to their club magazine.

The 53-year-old, who has three children with wife Beyonce, has even been spotted at the Emirates alongside another famous face.

He told Arsenal Magazine in 2010: "The press started reporting that I was a Manchester City fan, I am really glad all that has been cleared up and that everybody in the UK knows that I am an Arsenal fan.

"If there are [any fans in the Arsenal squad] they would be more than welcome to come to my next concert when I am over in London.

"They can come and see me do my work, and then I will come and see them do their work."

In 2013, Jay-Z watched Arsenal take on Manchester United in north London next to Coldplay frontman Chris Martin - with Robin Van Persie scoring for the visitors in a 1-1 draw.

In the United States, Jay-Z is a former part-owner of the Brooklyn Nets with his Roc Nation Sports agency representing several athletes.

His stars in football include Romelu Lukaku, Marcus Rashford and both Reece and Lauren James.

Other famous Arsenal fans include KSI, Piers Morgan and Idris Elba, with the former even sponsoring the club through his PRIME drinks venture.

City's famous fans include former Oasis duo Noel and Liam Gallagher, as well as ex-world champion boxer Ricky Hatton.
