Kylian Mbappe finished 2022 as the top scorer across Europe’s top five leagues (Premier League, La Liga, Ligue 1, Serie A, Bundesliga). 

The France and Paris Saint-Germain forward beat off competition from prolific Man City striker Erling-Braut Haaland and Barcelona hitman Robert Lewandowski. 

Mbappe notched a staggering 56 goals for club and country across the calendar year in 56 games, averaging a goal per game in the year under review. 

His closest competitor was Man City's dreaded goal-scoring machine Haaland, who bagged 46 goals in 46 games while Lewandowski finished on the podium with 42 strikes, per GFFN.

Mbappe could have a stiffer competition in 2023 considering the goal scoring rate of Haaland, who became the fastest player to reach 20 goals in the Premier League, ESPNFC notes.
