“52 weeks…Too Many Injuries And Surgeries.” This Sums Up Nick Krygios’ Current State.

Anybody who has been following Tennis for a while now will know that this was coming eventually. Controversial Australian tennis star Nick Krygios lost his ATP rankings after 52 long weeks of battling several injuries pertaining to his left knee and wrist. The Australian tweeted on Monday, in order to release this news to his loyal fanbase, went into detail about the reason for his withdrawal.

Back in 2016, Krygos held a very high ranking of No. 13 in the world. At his best form, the Aussie had the talent and capability to take on anybody on the court. But plaguing injuries and losing some major points have led to his downfall. The player has agreed that constant injuries made it difficult for him to maintain his shape and form.

Will He Be Back?  

Back in 2022, Krygos started the season with a knee injury which had been operated on. Subsequently, he also suffered from abdominal and shoulder injuries. Due to this, the 2022 season saw the Aussie just play for about a week.

In a tweet shared by the Aussie, he wrote, “It’s been a tough one health wise…52 weeks…too many injuries and surgeries over the last 12 months. I want to be fully recovered and ready to play at 100% again.”

When asked on Twitter about his plans for a comeback, Krygos just replied, saying that he is unsure. The lack of any firm answer from the former ATP no 13 shows that there is no news for him to come back anytime soon.
