Motorsports are known for two things, crashes and technological failure. And this rings true for F1, NASCAR, Dirt Racing, etc. Whenever you mix high speeds with a low margin for errors and sizzling fuels. You are bound to witness some sparks fly. And the recent race that took place in Charlotte provided a live demonstration.

The Charlotte event was going absolutely great. Then suddenly, observers witnessed Ricky Stenhouse Junior’s  Chevrolet suddenly burst into flames. Not only was this sudden, but it was also quite dangerous. What caused the state-of-the-art machine to reach the throes of catastrophic failure? Well, the answer might surprise you.

The Catastrophic Failure.  

Race analysts have confirmed that we can easily rule out some of the usual suspects like fuel spills, speed, etc. But what Caused this dangerous incident was something that was caused by a small error of Stenhouse’s team.  This will prompt NASCAR to consider making some revisions to their rulebook.

With just 13 laps left, a thick plume of smoke rose up from Steinhouse’s car. As soon as the flames emerged from car number 47, Ricky Stenhouse Jr. started decelerating. Soon enough, the plume of smoke started showing under the car. And after a tense pause of a few moments, Stenhouse managed to emerge out of the car unscathed.

The cause is yet to be confirmed. However, the sources suggest that the mishap was due to a small error of judgment from his pit crew. It is believed that Ricky’s team sent him out to race without the tip of his tailpipe. This caused the mishap. However, the lack of any official statement has made the situation a little bit tricky to understand.
