Neeraj Chopra’s story is an inspirational one. Coming from a small village in northern India, he became the first Indian ever to win Gold at the World Athletics Championship on Sunday. As he shared the podium with fellow Indian athletes like Kishore Jena (5th) and D P Manu (6th), it was a proud moment for the whole country.

On Sunday, India became the fourth country to have three finalists in the top ten. This was a huge moment for the sports community of India, as it shows the country’s rising strength in sports ever since Chopra won gold in the Tokyo Olympics.

This made huge ripples in the country and the society itself, as more and more people are choosing sports as a viable livelihood. Out of many places in India where athletics has become this newest obsession, Khandra is the latest addition. Located in the northern part of India, this town was the hometown of our beloved Neeraj Chopra during his formative years of his life.

Ever since Chopra came through with flying colors back in the year 2021, this has turned into a new hotspot of athletics. Harinder  Kumar, a former athlete and colleague of Neeraj Chopra, is providing track and field caching to interested kids after their schools. Harinder started this endeavor with just a few number of students and a dream.

Now, his class is close to around 45 students. Harinder has said to the media that Chopra is an integral part of this Humble Training Institute. The latter often provides pieces of equipment and monetary support to his humble training institute.
