“I just imagine a car running the light and hitting me”. Errol Spence Jr. recounts near death experiences.

Errol Spence Jr. has survived three car accidents. Three of which were termed as near-death experiences. Back in October 2019, Errol survived a car crash when is white ferrari got out of control and flipped. There were no physical injuries that the welterweight hotshot faced. However, he was hospitalized for almost three weeks.

Later on Errol released an official statement recounting the incident, “I don’t remember the night. To tell you the truth, I’ve just seen the video of me flipping down the road”. As errol was picking up the pieces after the horrific crash in 2019, he was again put back to square one last year. Last year, a 14 year old ran a red light and hit Errol’s car. This incident injured Errol’s leg and had to take time in order to give himself time to heal.

Following the incident, Errol went live on Instagram n order to share his ordeal and how his leg was injured seriously in the crash. All these near-death experiences can put things into perspective for an individual, and Errol Spence Jr. is not different. In a recent appearance in an episode of Hotboxin’ with Mike Tyson, Errol recounted those experiences and have confirmed about his deteriorating mental health and PTSD.

In a candid interaction the boxer recounted what he goes through on a daily basis. According to Errol, “I got PTSD though. I can’t even drive in the middle of the highway because it’s like two cars next to me…If I’m at like a red light or I’m passing an intersection, I just imagine a car running the light and hitting me. Crazy like that….” hearing this from such a high performing individual can put things into perspective and question the fragility of mental health which is often ignored.
