Robert Lewandowski: The World-Class Striker

Robert Lewandowski was born in Warsaw, and later he was brought up in Leszno, where he started to play for a local club named Partyzant Leszo as an unregistered player. In an interview, Lewandowski said that Roberto Baggio, Alessandro Del Piero, and Thierry Henry were his idols. Let’s see how his career went through.

Early Career

At the age of 17, Delta Warsaw, a 4th-tier team, signed him, and he was able to score four goals in that season. Later he was taken by another side, and in the 2006-07 season, Lewandowski played in the Polish third division, where he scored 15 goals and was the top goal scorer. He spent the next year in the second-highest division of Poland, where he scored 21 goals and became the top scorer for consecutive years in separate leagues.

Lech Poznan

In 2008, Lewandowski was brought by Lech Poznan with a transfer fee of 1.5 million PLN. At that time, Lewandowski’s agent tried to put him in Sporting Gijon, which was promoted to La Liga. But the team didn’t want Lewandowski at that time. Lewa was in second place with 18 goals that season. In the second season with Poznan, Lewandowski helped his team to win the championship, and he was the top scorer in the league.

Borussia Dortmund

In the 2010-11 season, Borussia Dortmund started the Klopp project, and the team brought Lewa at a price of €4.5 million. And Lewa did what he could do the best, he scored against Schalke 04 and made it 3-0. After Lucas Barrios took an injury, Lewandowski had the opportunity to be in the first XI, and he showed that the injury came well for the team. During his first season, Borussia Dortmund won the Bundesliga.

Lewandowski started the 2012-13 season by scoring against Bayern Munich. It was the season when Lewandowski broke a record by maintaining the longest scoring stream for the club, which was 12 games. And Borussia Dortmund was furious in the Champions League campaign. Dortmund defeated Bayern in the DFB-Pokal quarter-final also.

Lewandowski became the first-ever player who score four goals in a Champions League semi-final. The match was against Real Madrid, and the scoresheet was 4-1. But, unfortunately, Dortmund’s Champions League campaign ended in the final against Bayern, and the score was 2-1. In the 2013-14 season, Lewa became the top scorer of the league by scoring 20 goals. He ended the season by scoring 28 goals.

Bayern Munich

He stayed for eight years in Bayern Munich, and he never had to go through a season without a trophy. Bayern won all eight seasons, and Lewandowski was a part of it.

Lewa scored his first goal against Schalke 04, and the match drew 1-1. Lewandowski’s journey was successful as he faced his former club, and he was able to score against them. Though the season was good food Bayern, Lewa was unable to be at the top of the goal scorers. But, in the second season, he was furious as he was able to score 30 goals in the league.

The day was September 22, 2015…the score was Bayern 0-1 Wolfsburg…Lewa came as a substitute. The first goal came in 51 minutes…boom…8 minutes 59 seconds have gone…the current score became Bayern 5-1 Wolfsburg. Lewandowski scored all five goals. Lewandowski broke all the below-mentioned records.
