The 17th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2024) will get underway with a marquee clash between the defending champion Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) at the MA Chidambaram stadium in Chennai on March 22.

Before that, the stage is set for the glittering opening ceremony. The IPL 2024 opening ceremony line-up is out. The line-up this year features Bollywood actors Akshay Kumar, Tiger Shroff, singer Sonu Nigam, musical maestro AR Rahman along with DJ Axwell.

“The stage is set, the lights are bright, and the stars are ready to shine at the #TATAIPL 2024 Opening Ceremony! Get ready for an unforgettable fusion of cricket and entertainment ft. a stellar lineup!,” IPL wrote on X, formerly Twitter.

IPL also confirmed there will be a mid-innings performance during the match later in the evening.

“A captivating performance awaits for you at the #TATAIPL Mid Innings Show. Renowned Swedish DJ, record producer and remixer – DJ Axwell is all set to entertain Chennai with his enchanting live performance!,” IPL wrote on X, formerly Twitter.

Apart from the performances by the stars from the entertainment industry, the Ipl Opening Ceremony will also see an ‘Augmented Reality’ show.

The opening ceremony will be telecast from 6:30 PM, while the match starts from 7:30 PM.

Last year, Tamannaah Bhatia, Rashmika Mandanna, and singer Arijit Singh performed at the IPL 2023 opening ceremony.
