The Australian cricket team returned to Pakistan after a long gap of 24 years for the Test and limited overs series. In fact it is their first International game in Pakistan since 1998.

Australia will play 3 Tests, 3 ODIs and 1 T20I against Pakistan in Pakistan. 

Pakistan has not had too many visitors due to security reasons and the attack on the Sri Lankan team in 2007. The Australian team is returning to Pakistan is good news for international cricket as well as Pakistani fans. 

Earlier New Zealand were supposed to play but the team left the country just a few hours before the game. Later England also cancelled their tour due to security concerns. 

Meanwhile, a terrific bomb blast took place and killed at least 30 people in Shiite Muslim Mosque in Pakistan’s northwestern city of Peshawar on 1st day of PAK vs AUS Test match, 4th March, Friday.

The incident happened 185 KM away from the venue. 

Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan was originally scheduled to visit the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium in order to watch the match. 

But due to the incident he was unable to visit the stadium. 

The Australian team’s security officials are cooperating with the Department of Foreign Affairs and accessing the situation, as per the Australian media reports. The Australian board will decide the future of the tour after investigation. 

In the match, Pakistani captain Babar Azam won the toss and elected to bat first, Pakistani openers provided a strong start to the team, Imam-ul-Haq is playing on 132(271)* and Azhar Ali scored 64(165)*.

Earlier Abdullah Shafiq scored a brilliant innings of 44(105). The openers managed to survive the new ball threat from Aussie bowlers. After that Australian bowlers looked completely dull throughout the day. 

Nathan Lyon managed to pick a wicket of Abdullah Shafiq as the pitch was slightly helpful to the spinners. Pakistan is on 245/1 after the end of Day 1. Pakistan completely dominated the first day of the 1st Test match.
