Sevilla Preview: Three Vital Points Needed

Following the unfortunate loss to RC Lens, Arsenal visit perennial Europa League winners, Sevilla, for an opportunity to gain a better stronghold of their Champions League group.

Sevilla hasn’t began their La Liga campaign well, languishing in 13th place after a run of just one win in their last five games. Their star man, Youssef En-Nesyri hasn’t matched the heights of last season, but he has still been a goal threat for the Andalusian side all season long. Another Sevilla player that claims he has a score to settle with Arsenal is Erik Lamela, who scored that amazing rabona finish at the Emirates.

With three points in mind, I believe Mikel Arteta will be heading to Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan with his strongest squad possible. I will love to see Aaron Ramsdale get the nod over David Raya but that’s unlikely to happen. One imminent change would be deploying the returning Thomas Partey ahead of Jorginho to play alongside Declan Rice.

We will also need to check on the fitness of Gabriel Jesus, that was on the end of some nasty challenges in the Chelsea game. There was the terrible stamp on his Achilles by Cole Palmer and he received a blow to the face from Robert Sanchez, for a penalty that wasn’t even considered.

There have been some disjointed performances this season and Arsenal will need to step up. Hopefully, the boys will turn up tonight.
